ST. GALLEN SIGN NIGERIAN STRIKER ON LOAN FROM RB SALZBURG

Red Bull Salzburg have confirmed that they have sent out Nigerian-born striker ChukwubuikeAdamu on loan to St. Gallen where he will spend the rest of the season. Switzerland Super League outfit St. Gallen also confirmed the signing after confirming the announcement on their official website where they welcomed the player to the club.

The 19-year-old striker has been a sensation for Salzburg, and it comes as a surprise that they have decided to allow him to leave the club despite his fine form for the club in recent times. Born in Kano, Nigeria, Adamu made his debut for Salzburg back in September 2020 in what was a memorable debut as he was part of the Salzburg team that demolished Bregenz 10 goals to nil (10-0). He came off the bench to play the final 26 minutes of the game and he has not had any more involvement in the first team so far.

However, he has flourished for the academy team where he has made 49 appearances, scoring 26 goals in the process. During that period, he has also provided a further eleven goals for his teammates. 37 goal involvements in just 49 games are quite a great record for a striker and even though it was for the academy, it still outlines how much of a good player he is and how much better he can become if given the chance.
He was also a star for Salzburg in the UEFA Youth League as he scored six goals in just seven games, carrying his team on his back as they reached the semi-final of the competition. Although he has joined his new club, he won't be able to feature in their next two games as he is currently in self-isolation mode which will last for ten days. He has been confirmed to wear St. Gallen's number 7 shirt and will be raring to go as soon as he is eligible to play.
