Why Did The Courts Sack the Football Federation Board?

For some more interesting news in the Nigerian football world, there has been a sacking by a federal high court ruling against the Nigeria Football Federation.

This news come out of left field for many fans who are still left speculating as to what the cause was and why this would even need to be done.

The court ruling was against Amaju Pinnick and was held in Jos on the previous Friday. This nullification was to be followed up with Chris Giwa.

Chris Giwa is immediately to assume all responsibilities of the NFF and Solomon Dalung (who is the head of sports minister) to make sure that an election victory is recognized.

The shambles at the Nigeria FA has been likened by some pundits to the StanJames 2001 Grand National, with the Board simply unable to get the horses organised enough to actually start the race!

However, Dalung has more trouble to deal with then he wants to deal with. There’s currently some factions that are going to war against each other because they’re not very happy with the ruling or the results. Dalung has been trying to restore peace between the two groups but has not yet been successful enough to yield positive results.

Friday’s verdict was announced and the judge honorably Musa Haruna Kurya has upheld the previous judgement given from the previous judge Ambrose Allagoa. Kurya in an earlier ruling had withdrawn the case which was between the NFF and Giwa. He also made sure that he upheld the nullification that was set for the Pinnick board. These came from petitioners Obinna Ogba and Yahaya Adama.

Giwa has been reported to be in charge of the footballing body pending final verdict of the out coming case and will make a final ruling.

However, Giwa has also made it clear that he wants to take over the court ruling. Not everyone is happy with the court ruling as both choices have warring factions fighting for both. What do you think will come of this, if anything good?
