The Nigeria Football Federation has said that Calabar will be the host of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations home qualifiers that will take place in June and also the 2014 World Cup qualifiers as well.

The games were initially expected to be held in Kaduna, but they have been shifted in order to do away with the security problems.

Stephen Keshi, the coach of the Nigeria National Football Team has recalled many foreign based players as well as a host of youngsters for the Super Eagles’ 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Rwanda on the 29th of february.

Among those players who have been given a life line with the national team are Blackburn Rovers striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu as well as Sani Kaita.
