NIGERIAN OFFICIALS QUESTIONED
A number of Nigerian officials have been questioned after allegations over a scam. EFCC operatives on Friday morning stormed the NPL office in Abuja to serve notice on the officials.
“They have been ordered to report to the EFCC office in Abuja immediately. They are to answer allegations of mismanagement of revenue accruing from the sale of television rights on behalf of the NPL,” disclosed a top official.
It has been alleged that the television rights for the NPL were sold for a total of three billion naira (over 20 million dollars) between 2006 and 2010 to a South African company, but only about 436 million naira or about three million dollars was received by the league in all these years.
