NIGERIA TO DECIDE

The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) are set to decide on the next month’s 2012 ACN qualifiers against Ethiopia. Speculations have been rife that the match slated for March 27 will now be played in Kaduna, but the NFA general secretary, Musa Amadu, said a decision has yet to be taken.

“A decision has not yet been taken to move the game from Lagos. So, the venue remains Lagos,” said Amadu.

“However, I know that the players have complained about the artificial pitch in Lagos and in the next few days, we hope to take a decision in the best interest of the team.”

Amadu dismissed suggestions that Lagos was no longer being considered to stage the Nations Cup qualifier after the team was booed for letting in a late goal against Sierra Leone in a friendly last week.

“Whatever the decision, it will not be taken on the basis that a small section of the Lagos crowd booed the team,” he insisted.

Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, said he will co-operate with the NFA to ensure a resounding victory against Ethiopia wherever the match is finally played at.
