Peterside Idah has said that the future is looking bright for Nigerian football in the next few days.

Speaking with NationSport in Soweto after Nigeria defeated Cameroon 3-2 in the final of the 17th edition of the African Youth Championship (AYC), Idah noted that the victory over Cameroon did not come on a platter of gold.

It has not been easy. They started on a shaky note. Despite the first win over Ghana, they lost to Cameroon and for them to come back and beat the same Cameroon shows character. It is a thing of joy and it goes to show that we are on the right path. Our U-20 just won the AYC, the U-23 defeated Liberia 6-1 and the Super Eagles are on the right track. All these goes to show that the future of Nigerian football is very bright,” Idah added.
